Petr Fiala, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic

“I am very glad to be here and to be able to open this beautiful complex. Not only beautiful, but known throughout the sports world for many years. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the necessary reconstruction. The reconstruction covered all aspects of this complex and was done to meet the requirements of international associations for hosting top events. I believe both athletes and spectators will notice it. I wish biathlon, which is one of our long-term successful sports and brings joy to all of us, to be successful at the upcoming World Championships.”

Vítězslav Schrek, Governor of Vysočina Region

“For every governor, when a minister or prime minister visits their region, it is always a significant event. For us, representatives of regional self-government, cooperation with the government and individual ministries is very important. If it works as in this case, it's the best. I believe that the investment in the Vysočina Arena will contribute not only to the good reputation of races and athletes but generally to the comfort of visitors and users of the Vysočina Arena even after the World Championships.”

Ondřej Šebek, Chairman of the National Sports Agency

“The Vysočina Arena is the first project of the National Sports Centers, and I am glad that the possibility of financing came together here from the municipality, the state, and the sports association. Everything was done on time. The Biathlon World Championships will bring popularity not only to athletes but also to the entire Czech Republic. The economic impact of the whole event will be evident, with restaurants, buses full, and business activities of fans benefiting not only the region but the whole country. This place will always be associated with the fulfillment or non-fulfillment of goals, with tears of happiness or sadness and emotion. Emotions towards sports belong, and I wish that during the Biathlon World Championships, these emotions are mostly positive.”

Michal Šmarda, Mayor of Nové Město na Moravě

“I want to thank you for the trust with which you decided on the funds for this complex. I am proud of the work of the people, thanks to whom we did not have to worry about the meaning of this large investment. The government and other investors decided based on good experience from past years. There are people here who can be relied upon, and there is certainty that the investment will not be in vain. I wish all of you who have put your hearts and a piece of work here to enjoy not only the following championships.”

Michal Matyáš, Director of PS Brno:

“I am honored to stand here and thank everyone who ensured the financing of this construction and contributed to its realization. I wish the entire organizing team of the World Championships a successful event and bring joy to the Czech sports nation.”

Jaroslav Kladiva, Director of PKS stavby Žďár n. S.

“I thank you on behalf of the company for the opportunity to participate in this contract. I believe we have shown that we can build. We have applied our own capacities here for continuous and rapid construction. May it thrive here and appeal not only to athletes.”
